Wow, you can almost feel the touch of the graphite material.

I wonder if graphite is made of crystals, or has it some directional grain?

I hope creator saved his shavings for fellow guitar players with nut problems (no.. not *that* kind of nuts!).

It's a crystal structure I think. Made of of 'sheets' of carbon atoms loosely piled on top of each other. The weak carbon to carbon bonds "between the sheets" are what makes it slippery and good for lubrication.

Of course it's a long *** time since I did senior chem.


That aside, thats a -damn- impressive effort. I've used cheap pencils that I couldn't even sharpen without the graphite core snapping and falling out.

The guy must have the softest touch imaginable!
