I got it 2 days ago from an E_Bay power Seller ,it works really well , it sounds powerfull and Classic..The C shape Neck is impeccable and the guitar got a complet vintage pedigree. Comes factory-loaded with original USA Texas-Special Vintage single coil pickups... Five-way switch, Kluson tuners, vintage steel block, ...It s a 1999 serial production

A tiny problem with the loose jack ,nothing serious..I just had 9 to 46 hybrid Ernie.. strings and i look forward to try it with some D addario 10 to...I love the tone and its been a while since a enjoyed playin with a wammy bar..Nice !

Some Techs and Luthiers say that the japanese Start are build better than the mexican equivalent and even the american one .Talkin about this model obviously..Lets say that japanese does solid state products , just think about the cars they build..

So i m really glad i bought this guit for $600 Canadian..

here it is

Really looks amazingly close to my American 57 Reissue ;) As for the jack pin it's seem to be the weak part of the Japanese models I had also to change mine on the Japanese Esquire as well as the pickup selector which went bad quite quickly

I personally like jap strats.I still dont like the switches or pots.I changed mine out in my foto-flame floyd jap model with a tbx tone contol and fender cts pots, orange drops.:bravo:

Nice looking ride though and those T.S. will get the raunch out but also clean up nice despite the doubters!!!!

MIJ/CIJ Fenders are great. I gigged through the 80's with a Squier JV strat in fiesta red and once bought a CIJ '52 tele on a day I didn't even intend to buy a guitar because it was so good. Like Mudcat says, replace the pots and switches when they break.
