Well, my new 60's-70's greybottom (overwound, non-staggered) pickups are installed in my Washburn X-33! I had to sand some wood off to fit them in (the X-33 has no pickguard) and that was a bit annoying, but they're in there, and they sound great. Very vintage sound, nice treble out of the bridge, the in-between settings sound great...very happy with it.

Plus, it's my first pickup install job, so I'm happy it's just making sound, much less anything sounds good :)

Pics or it didn't happen.:D

I'll try to get some pics up later today. Didn't really change the look much (black pickups covers still look like black pickup covers), but I've been meaning to post pics of my guitars anyway.

Well, here they are :D

On the left is my Washburn Idol WI64 DL. She's got black pearl top GFS Dream 180 pickups in her, goldknobs with black pearl tops, and there's a black pearl pickguard and a gold truss rod cover on the way from terrapinguitars.com. Bought this one brand new.

On the right is my Washburn X-33. Stock except for new pots/caps and the aforementioned 60's-70's greybottom pickups. Got her from eBay. I like the X-33, but the new ones don't have the "X" on the 12th fret. I think it adds a little chracter to the axe, so I got a used one. Sounds great!
