Hey all, just found the forum today and thought I'd say hello.
I'm a thirty-something who has a story you are probably all very familiar with - I started fiddling with guitars as a teen and never 'really' learned how to play properly. Anyway I took some lessons and am getting better at it. Been in and out of a few local, all-original bands, just doing this for the fun of it.
Gear-wise I am primarily a Fender type of guy although I recently picked up a neck-thru Agile LP that is pretty sweet. My primary weapon is a 2009 American Deluxe HSS Strat - really digging this guitar. Also have another strat (MIM 50's Classic Players reissue) and a tele (Lonestar relic) as well as some others.
For amps I mainly play through an Ampeg Reverberocket, a Marshall Vintage Modern (50-watt), or a silverface Twin Reverb. I have plenty of amps, but none of those special, super-mojo jobbies (except maybe one, but it's a long story). I guess you could say I am true believer in tube amps and haven't really been able to get along with any SS amp I've ever tried.
For effects - well - that's my weakness. I build my own and lately I build a lot. I'm probably well over 75 builds this year and still rolling. Mostly various fuzzes and overdrives as that's my primary interest (I'm not a big 'modulation' guy), but I'll build whatever is buildable before I'm through - it's a ton of fun and I recommend that everyone have a go at it! I do sell pedals as well, but I'm not here to do that so I won't mention it from here on.
I guess that's about it. What do I mean "about it?" i just wrote a novel . . . lame. But it's a slow day at work and snowing outside so this is what you get!
