I did a preemptive one before the final answer to marnold's this morning and it was Jimi's Axis:Bold As Love...it was cool too cause I added colors to it. I deleted it though. You do one!

And I may drown in still water
but I'll never swim Kern River again

SuperSwede should be able to guess this........

Bump......so it's been a little while try this.......

The world is spinning so Fast

To keep my self together

Hey farmer farmer
Put away that d.d.t. now
Give me spots on my apples
But leave me the birds and the bees
Please!

Mr Spudman, I'm going to jump the gun and throw the next one out here... I'm pretty confident about Joni Mitchell, so here goes another.

How d'you do I
See you've met my
Faithfull handyman
He's just a
Little brought down because
When you knocked
He thought you were the candyman.

Dont get strung out
By the way I look.
Dont judge a book by its cover.
I'm not much of a man by the light of day,
But by night I'm one hell of a lover

No worries. You're up. It was Joni Big Yellow Taxi.

good one Algonquin,

i believe it is "Sweet Transvestite" from the Rocky Horror Pic. Show

Yes Yes Yes!

I was dying here nobody was guessing... I was even dropping hints like the new Avatar, and posting Ted should leave his homemade Tele a 'Sweet Transparent'

Go man go... the mike is yours.

Oh ya, if you're over 14... I guess you can watch this.

alright, here goes...
-------------------------
The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom of the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.

Life is a short, warm moment
And death is a long cold rest.
You get your chance to try in the twinkling of an eye:
Eighty years, with luck, or even less.

So all aboard for the American tour,
And maybe you'll make it to the top.
And mind how you go, and I can tell you, 'cause I know
You may find it hard to get off.

You are the angel of death
And I am the dead man's son.
And he was buried like a mole in a fox hole.
And everyone is still on the run.

And who is the master of fox hounds?
And who says the hunt has begun?
And who calls the tune in the courtroom?
And who beats the funeral drum?

The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom in the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.

Well, we live in a trailer
at the edge of town
You never see us
'cause we don't come around.
We got twenty five rifles
just to keep
the population down.
But we need you now,
and that's why
I'm hangin' 'round.
So you be good to me
and I'll be good to you,
And in this land of conditions
I'm not above suspicion
I won't attack you,
but I won't back you.

Well, it's so good to be here,
asleep on your lawn.
Remember your guard dog?
Well, I'm afraid
that he's gone.
It was such a drag
to hear him
whining all night long.
Yes, that was me with the doves,
setting them free
near the factory
Where you built your computer,
love.
I hope you get the connection,
'cause I can't take
the rejection
I won't deceive you,
I just don't believe you.

Well, I'm a barrel of laughs,
with my carbine on
I keep 'em hoppin',
till my ammunition's gone.
But I'm still not happy,
I feel like
there's something wrong.
I got the revolution blues,
I see bloody fountains,
And ten million dune buggies
comin' down the mountains.
Well, I hear that Laurel Canyon
is full of famous stars,
But I hate them worse than lepers
and I'll kill them
in their cars.

Bump...

Okay, game's been idle long enough.
Neil Young- "Revolution Blues", from the album "On The Beach" (I still have the album...as in vinyl :D ).

Next shooter up!..... uh, I mean, someone else's turn..............

Hmm - a little hard to choose something as a lot of the local/European music I listen to never made it to the US. Not much fun in posting those. But this should be quite well known:

I liked the way my hand looked on your head
in the presence of my knuckles
but the beauty of this vision alone just like yesterday's sunset
has been perverted by the sentimental
and mistaken for love

the felix of your truth will always break
it and the iris of your eye will always shake it
and the armies, the armies I have created
will always hate it
will always bait you on

I liked the way my hand looked on your head
in the presence of my struggle
but the beauty of this vision alone I can't shake from my tree just yet
it keeps invading all my private moments
listen to me now

It's been nearly a week..

No guesses = Too easy?? :o - well that was "Iris" from Live's Throwing Copper.

I'll try another one. This is from an album I recently "borrowed' from my library - they have a service where you can actually download music from home, it's DRM'ed and will play for seven days before expiring. .. Very convenient for checking out new stuff.

Don't think there is any guitar on the track so very OT here.. ;) It did catch me straight away with a melancholic, beautiful sound, but when I paid closer attention to the lyrics I kinda wish I hadn't; somewhat disturbing... Anyway, here it is for you to try 'the other way round'...

It's true I always wanted love to be
Hurtful
And it's true I always wanted love to be
Filled with pain
And bruises
(...)
Mr. Muscle, gazing boredly
And he checking time did punch me
And I sighed and bleeded like a windfall
Happy bleedy, happy bruisy

whoops, hadn't realised it had been so long..

Answer: Antony and the Johnsons "Cripple & the Starfish"

Someone else have a go now...

I think this thread needs a gentle push, and this song is appropriate for today!

Waiting on a Sunday afternoon
for what I read between the lines,
your lies.
feelin' like a hand in rusted shame
so do you laugh or does it cry?
reply?

Leavin' on a southern train
only yesterday you lied,
promises of what I seemed to be
only watched the time go by,
all of these things you said to me.

Breathing is the hardest thing
to do. with all I've said and
all that's dead for you,
you lied - good bye

Leavin' on a southern train
only yesterday you lied
promises of what I seemed to be
only watched the time go by,
all of these things I said to you.

Cheers:beer:
David
