Hey friends,

Have spent a little time on the Guitar Idol 2009 site.
It's amazing what some of the especially younger players are coming up with. Give me ten years without wife, kids and job so that I could practice....and I still would NOT be able to play that stuff :rotflmao:

I saw very, very few players in the Blues category. Maybe 20 in total, or so. So I decided to create an account :thwap: but still I am not sure if I find the time to record something. We'll see...maybe I'm also too afraid.

Has any of you guys participated in that competition?

I strongly believe there's some players here that could make it pretty far also without playing tapped arpeggios in light speed. :AOK:

Wow, soo many pointy guitars!!
I'm tempted to enter something in the blues category just for the fun of it.

Cool reply Lev!
The more of us participate, the stronger we are. And yes, just for the fun of it!

Maybe I should too! I have never entered any guitar contests ever.

The website is http://www.guitaridol.tv/

Are you supposed to supply a video, or is the track itself enough?

Yes, you should Robert!!!
The link is correct.
They want a video and you must post/implement a youtube link. You can get backing tracks on their site or compose something yourself.

Come on folks, lets do it together.

Are you going to use your own backing track or one of the supplied ones?

I played a little bit over a backer called Reflections, but today I am going to compose something myself. The blues BTs are very basic, but there's also some Jazz Blues BT - maybe something for you Robert.
