Hey yeah Krash, howzaboot a birthday report?! What did you do? What did you get?

No big nuthin. Had some Mexican food from Moe's (a chain restaurant, but pretty good), stayed home and helped the boy with his middle school homework.

My parents sent a check, still haven't seen a card from the inlaws, but according to my wife's mom one is one the way, with some negotiable paper in it.

I don't ask for/expect presents from Mrs. Krashpad for birthdays, Christmas, etc. I tell her any gear I buy I consider a gift from her, so that way I get what I want, get a good deal, and she doesn't have to shop.

So I reckon the cheapie Thunderbird bass I bought for a Benjamin recently was my early birthday present:

Also, today I bought an old beater box-type Fender/Ric style case (the kind with the padded ends), missing a latch, for $20 off Craigslist. So the Thunderbird can go in a bass case I was using for a guitar (the T-bird won't fit in any of my gigbags), and the guitar (a Gretsch Special Jet) can go in the beater case. The Gretsch fits in the beater case like it was made for it!
