Hello folks

My name is Jacob Quistgaard, but most people call me Quist. I'm originally from Denmark, but have been based in London since graduating from London's Royal Academy of Music where I studied Jazz Guitar. I'm a professional guitarist/songwriter. You may also find me tutoring at Guitar-X (Tech Music Schools) in Acton, it's one of the most awesome places for guitarists in London and I'm proud to be contributing.. Here's a clip from a blues gig in Soho http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oOchCdn_CM . I play all sorts of guitars, but gotta mention a few re-worked Aria semi-acoustics that I have, which I love! My fav pedals at the moment are my Hot Cake, boss octave, DL4 delay/loop station and good ol hendrix wah wah! I'm off to play Oxegen Festival in Ireland with Andreay Triana in a few days...should be good fun!

Nice to meet ya'll !

Welcome Quist. I hope you have a good show at the festival.

Thanks man. Nice list of gear there... I've been doing quite a lot of my gigs with a Hot Rod amp I got recently.. had trouble with too much distortion at first, but after I gave it some different and nicer valves and a complete check-up it really came to life.. love it!

Welcome to The Fret, Quist!
That's a sweet solo you posted. I love the lines and phrasing.

I am sometimes amazed at the broad talent and variety of guitarists we have here in The Fret. You'll enjoy this group.

They can be fussy, but when you find what makes them work well they are an incredibly good sounding amph.

Welcome to the forum, Quist. Nice to have you here!

Welcome Quist. Impressive playing.

I'm interested in hearing more about those Aria's....

Very very nice playing! Like how you hold something back. What other genres do you play, I like to hear more.

I'll try and get a pic up maybe, i've also just done a video today for London's Guitar-X (tech music schools) whenever that stuff is put out you can hear it in action and tell me what ya think... ? It's a basic thinline archtop with an added bigsby style vibrato arm..

I work mostly in soul, jazz, funk, blues, pop and rock.. as mentioned above I've just recorded my first bit of tuition video this morning at Tech Music Schools in London, they have a wicked guitar branch called guitar-x.. when they put it out I'll try and share it on here, keen to hear what folks think! More playing vids on the way too... What kinda stuff you play??
