Can't believe it took me this long to find this forum! Anyhoo, as this is an introduction section, I shall follow the instructions stated to the letter.......

Been playing for about 12 years now, working at the moment as a guitar teacher in schools after getting my degree in classical music in 2004 - though I rarely get the chance to play classical stuff these days. Been focussing much more on Jazz of late. Played for 7 odd years as lead guitarist/singer in a funk band.

My gear is -

Guitars -
2003 Colin Morrison short scale classical (Spruce table, rosewood everything else),
1970's Fender Strat,
Ibanez Artcore Semi-Acoustic,
Tanglewood Black Mountain steel strung acoustic,
Rubbish vintage thing that I pulled all the frets off of so I could have a go at fretless guitar (wicked cool, turns old minging guitars into new toys! :) ), Cheapo Bass guitar so I can practice some of the stuff that I teach.

Amps -
70's Marshall JCM800 stack,
Line6 Spider3 120w 2x10.

And there it is.

Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" :)

What types of schools do you teach in? I don't believe they still teach guitar in public (= free, state sponsored) schools in the states.

Do you look like this?

Hmmmm, so that's where the legend of Loch Ness originated.

Teach in both primary and secondary schools, right up until the wee buggers leave to go to uni. It's a good laugh, and we even get to do the odd concert as part of "work"!
