Hi all, recently acquired an Eko guitar from 1963 with a similarly vintaged pickup on it.

The tone pot was dead though, like completely cut off from all the wires... I've bought a new pot, but just don't know what to connect to what!

Never seen a pickup like this one before. Had a look on some pickup wiring sites but couldn't find something I recognised.

Couple of pictures below...

Black and yellow wire would seem to lead out to the input jack, there's obviously the resistor wire, and finally the earth wire.

Hope someone can help me figure this out - it needs to be fixed within the next week!!

Thanks so much.

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the link, but it's not the same. The earth wire can't run to the bridge - the pickup is scratchplate mounted and has absolutely no contact with the guitar.

It's a really weird setup. Anyway, I consulted a couple of guitar playing / electronic buddies tonight and I've glued it all up... will see how that goes.

Takes 24 hours or so for the glue to become completely set and completely conductive.

Here's hoping...

If not, I'm thinking I'll replace the whole lot with a single pickup.

Glue :what

The diagram I posted gives you the wiring for the pickup, controls and socket. The earth point in your assembly appears to be that big brass plate under the volume pot.
