I new the group, and I thought I wouldn't lurk in the shadows like most newbies. I'm 37 female, with kids and I love to play guitar. I have a clapton strat, and vox AD50 amp, takemine cuttaway, Les Paul studio, and and a gibson J 50. I'm attempting to take my playing to the next level, with out using any mind altering drugs:)

I play blues, rock, country, and some original music. Currently I'm in a rut, I have been playing for 5 years in most recent stint. Played years ago in college. I know some theory but cant seem to apply it so I just play what I think sounds good. My handle is MrsBigtx, but I now longer live there, although I do miss it at times.

Stay tuned,

Mel

Hello tx,

You certainly have a nice collection of gear.

I think you are going to find this place friendly and informative. I'd like to help you get out of the rut, but at the end of the day, you are the one that has to get it done. It's something we all go through, at all levels.

Howdy Mel, welcome to the forum.:bravo:

You another Texan??? A few of us fretters get together in Pearl, TX every so often. A bluegrass festival is held there on the first Satuday of every month. Most of us don't play bluegrass though, we use it as meeting place to get together, play a variety of music, and share our new with each other.

Welcome to TheFret, Mel! Good bunch of gear you've got there! We've got a great group here that will encourage you to play what you have, and probably buy more! The GAS never ends.... :dude:

Welcome. You will find a nice mix of folks here about. Some of us with a lot less gear, some with more.

Have fun playing and let the music flow.

Gil

Welcome to the Fretnet, Mrs. B. As most have said, you'll find this a friendly and helpful place to hang out.

I can sympathize with being in a rut guitar-wise. What really helped me was going out weekly to blues jams and playing. I was absolutely terrified at first, but I've gained confidence AND my playing has improved by leaps and bounds. No substitute for playing live with other musicians!

Good to have you here!

Bob
