Thought I'd say hi. I'm Arron, 27 and I'm in a newbie band called 'sumo love machine' coming out of Hamilton, new Zealand we formed mid 2006 and I'm on lead/writing the songs....

I also do my own music under the name 'the bathtub sophist'

I am fairly new to playing lead, only started to practice with any discipline/plan a in the last month or two, but I am really starting to love it - there is so much to learn...

I have played my first fully-amped and staged live gig recently and that was great, I have also started to record some decent tracks myself...

I'm a fender guy at heart, but I've found gibson's - esp LP style really handy for playing live... My fav guitar is my epiphone lp100 clone, it was quite cheap but it has served me well and has a surprisingly good tone.

anyhow, thats me.. A newbie... I would give myself a 4 out of 10 as a guitarist, maybe a 4.5 on a good day - I look forward to chatting with you all and learning some goo tips/techniques to boost my playing...

Welcome to the forum, Arron. Lots of "learners" here, and people are happy to share advice.

Welcome! I'm new myself, but I can tell you this: it's a forum with it's own "vibe", and really cool!

As for "much to learn"...I've got over 20 years of playing in, and I'm still learning!

We already have one fretter from down under (GreenMachine); it's great to welcome those from next door to down under.

Bathub Sophist is a great name!

Welcome Aaron!

Best tip I can offer is keep the goo cleaned off the neck and fretboard.:rotflmao:
