Gear: Takemine EF340, H1 Tele, LP Special, Vox AD30VT and a little Marshall practice amp with a new board (the usual starter stuff...)

Influences: I'm 41 so I'm pretty much a classic rock guy - PF, LZ, etc..but I have been opening up to some new bands (in that same general feel - Drive By Truckers for example.

Why I'm here - always looking to learn more about guitars, tone, gear, etc. I recently got serious about practicing (instead of aimless ******ing) and in my brief lurking - this looks like a friendly place to pick up some ideas.

That's it.

Carry on!:munch:

Welcome Viper! Lots of us 40somethings that took up guitar or got more serious about it relatively recently. Increasing one's guitarishness must be a mid-life crisis thing. If so, welcome to the crisis!

Is your LP Special a doublecut or singlecut?

TV Yellow?

Ah, a Special Humbucking. Think how heavy it'd be with an arched maple cap! ;) :D

I tend to forget those'r out there-- I'm old-school and immediately think P-90 when I see "LP Special."

Iirc those have the same 490/498 pickup pair that's in my LP Studio Doublecut.

Yep. Muddy for the longest time until I lowered both down to the pup rings, and now she's a screamer. With a cap, I'd need a back brace.
