Hints for a DVR Newbie please.

We rented a DVR machine from Cox Cable (only game in town for cable) for the month so we could record the Olympics coverage. We are going to be in and out of town as we try to get some camping in before summer closes out. I just picked up the machine and need to go home and set it up before we head out to camp for the weekend. Any hints for setup and for programming it to record the olympics all weekend would be appreciated. I hate trying to program the VCR to record something later, and hope this is more intuitive.

We have very basic cable going straight into the TV typically. (standard TV) or into the VCR on one TV. No router box or anything like that.

Pull up the TV guide drid and find the channel its on, scroll through til you see the olympics listed and hit enter(its the round button in the center on mine)...itll ask if you want to record the show or entire series...you wanna record the entire series.
You may check the sister stations to see if theres more coverage.
