Hey guys, new guy here. Well i started playing bass 4 or five years ago ... cant remember, but recently switched to guitar because i found my old acoustic and sold my old snare drum (play percussion too) for 50 bucks and bought a squire affinity for 50 bucks (nice deal huh). I play rock, metal, acoustic, and jazzy stuff. Im probably buying either a boss distortion pedal, or a new mini humbucker "hot rail" i think its called to put in my bridge position.

Guitars: fender affinity strat
Amps: Peavey Rage 158 ( extremely old model)
FX's: none, sadly

this looks like a cool sight with a lot of intelligent people to help me re wire my strat and just basically get better.

Welcome aboard!! Make sure you check out guitarfetish.com for good deals on really good p'ups :bravo: They have a Lil Killer set that would fit the bill I'm sure.

Not sure about the series/parallel wiring. I'm going for single coil/humbucker switching myself - each to his/her own.:pancake:

I'm going to be modding my Squier (a Vintage Modified Tele) as soon as the parts get here... http://www.thefret.net/showthread.php?t=6735

It's my first mod too, I don't even want explain my compulsion to mod a "Vintage Modified" guitar, but that's what this site will do to a guy (and some gals :thwap:)

Again, welcome!

Trev

Welcome to the forum.

I've got an Affinity Strat and really like it. I've swapped out the pickups a couple of times, but that's about it for modding. It plays great.

Don't worry about not having effects yet. LOTS of suggestions here once you get bitten by the GAS bug!

Welcome Squierman!

just strum said:
It was only a matter of time.:D
Warren copyrighted his welcome several years ago, he just brought out the copyright message 'cause he was getting nervous because you're showing a little too much interest in it. He's afraid that you're going steal it ;).

Welcome aboard. Lots of nice folks here about.

Many different guitars, styles, know-how about many different elements about playing, recording, or just random knowledge thrown out there.

A very nice place - ask a question or offer some of your own answers - all are welcome here.

Gil
