On the TOM bridge. Does it mean I have to pull the stud to attach a new wire?

Just wanna make sure. Thanks.

kiteman,

Where did it break at? It needs to be either reconnected or run a new wire. Can you get to the break? If the stud needs to removed to install a new wire don't panic it is not too bad a job.

Yea, I got it. I went ahead and pulled the stud and put a new wire on. :)

Curious, how did you pull the stud? I am always afraid of taking some of the finish with it.

I put the tape around the area and laid a big washer on top. Then screw the bolt in and used an open end wrench to pry up. I tightened the bolt as I worked it up.

The paint did flake a little but the bridge has a recessed area so it's not going to show. It's on the Carvin DC127.

If you use a flat head screw that will fit in the stud hole, you drop it in upside down and thread the post in. When it makes contact with the screw the insert will extract itself.

No prying neccesary.

I remembered that and thought about it but the hole looks pretty deep. No telling how much wood is there in the back.
