You heard right. But not a sampling looper, like a JamMan or Loop Station. Rather, it's a true bypass A/B looper:

I jumped in this thread as soon as I saw the title, but alas, it's just a switch as DVM pointed out

FWIW I did a load of research on building loopers before I bought my RC-2 and I think we are a little way off from any kind of DIY kit sampler/looper. I know people have made them, but if you read about the trials and tribulations, its just a massive hassle for sub par performance and the tech is quite involved for me as an electronics engineer, let alone someone inexperienced.

I'd love someone to prove me wrong though!
