I personally use a PC based control system for my stage set-up and it works well .
So ask, I've made alot of mistake so maybe I can save you a step or two.

I saw that actually happen from my upper lip to my bass players ears one night when I leaned over to tell him what the next song was.
BA-BOOM was all I saw for a moment!
