Yesterday I was playing my jazz in the bedroom and thought the tone was kinda weak and thin. Very ho-hum without any guts to it.

So just for S&G's I plugged in the other 1x12 cab and, wow!

Instant monster tone!:rockya:dude

Who would have thought that just adding in another cab would have such a drastic improvement in the sound?

It's surprising how much difference in tone the cab or cabs can make. Wonder what your amph would sound like through 16 twelves????

Of course the speaker/number is always a key factor. Much more so than body woods for instance.

Even more so in the Hifi world. The cheapest amps and CD players can provide nigh perfect sound but even $100.000 speakers are far from perfection...always the weak link even with best speakers ever built.

Played my peavey through a single 15 for years. Decent bottom end but always sounded kinda muddy to me. Really thought it was my bass needing better pickups till I picked up my first Fender Jazz bass. Guess what? Same thing. I guess I can be a little slow sometimes but I finally got a new rig with a 15 and 4 10's and wow. Both of my basses came to life. I know what your thinking but I unplugged the 10's and the sound was muddy again. The 10's really made my basslines sparkle. Now I have a fuller more modern sound. No bass pedals!! Yeah!!
