Is Steven Tyler quiting Aerosmith?

I saw a brief thing on the news earlier that Tyler is denying rumors that he is leaving the band.

Janie and her gun showed up and forced them back together. Of course she was backed up by the Dude that looks like a lady.

YEah.. they just needed to spend a couple of night in the ruts together. I´m glad they came out on the other side!

Perry wants to carry on Tyler wants 2 years off... Another twist to the story. Maybe the end after all?

If, for whatever reason, the band decides to work for a couple of years without Tyler, I highly recommend Eric Dover as a temporary fill-in. You can catch him singing lead for Slash here (note: ffw to the 3:45 mark) and singing in one of his own bands here.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I think Aerosmith should have retired a long time ago. In my modest and humble opinion, the last decent album they put out was Live Bootleg. That probably dates me a bit, but it may also explain why I'm not a fan of their more recent endeavors. Joe Perry is still a great guitarist, and Steven still has the pipes, but...sadly they aren't writing anything worth listening to anymore.

Again, I realize that most of you will probably disagree. I'm okay with that. I'm of the mind that "Older is gooder", in most cases involving those rock bands that were big in the 70's.

Enough said. Talk amongst yourselves. ;-)

Gotta agree with FrankenFretter. This big question shouldn't be "is Steven Tyler quitting Aerosmith"....it should be "would anyone notice or care?"

As the other's said, Rocks and Toys, as well as Live Bootleg are the only Aerosmith albums worth listening to, IMO. A slight exception would be a few tracks off their other live release, "A Little South of Sanity".

Here's a pretty cool instrumental track off Joe Perry's recent album, "Have Guitar, Will Travel". He has a great wah pedal sound.
