Well not quite yet, but my wife and I are going there in the beginning of December.

Any recommendations for what to do in Vegas?

I think we will go to the Red Rock Canyon, which is close by. Maybe the Hoover Dam.

Some guitar stores of course... haven't checked up on what shows are playing yet but I will see what's available.

One thing I would like to do is to go to Mario Batali's restaurant - http://carnevino.com/home.cfm.

LV is a great place to visit. Have fun. We were there this past Easter week. We stayed on the strip and therefore, didn't need a car.

We took a guided SUV tour of Red Rock Canyon which is pretty cool. We walked up and down the strip, from Mandalay Bay to the Stratosphere one day. Lots of walking.

Catch one of the Cirque du Soleil shows if you can. "O" is fabulous and the best of the lot.

Eat at the Peppermill Lounge (right on the strip, across from Circus Circus) if you can. Great food and reasonably priced.

You might be able to catch a good local group at the HOB in Mandalay Bay. We saw a good rockabilly act one nite with a guitar played who was really good and used his reverb like crazy.

Hmmmmm.....they have these kiosks, "Half Price Tickets" or something like that. They offer discounted show tics daily. So, if you get lucky, you might get to see a good show at a reduced price.

We did that and saw BLUE MAN GROUP and ELTON JOHN (the real guy, not some faux entertainer) this year.

The MGM has a LION exhibit in it's main lobby every day from 11-8. Fascinating to watch as they have a couple/several lions in there with handlers..

The MIRAGE has Siegfried and Roy's white lions, white tigers on exhibit in a kind of zoo setting. Pretty cool too.

Vegas just ain't Vegas without The Flying Elvises.

I got dragged to LV with work.
Knew it would be a dump.
It may well be a gold-plated dump, but it's still a dump.

Go to the Voodoo Lounge and imbibe a witch's brew.
That should take the edge off...
And while you're on the balcony wonder at the massive expanse of the lights of civilisation. Then ponder what all the 'normal' people do!

Ed Roman's is worth a visit.
And maybe the jazz bar in Mirage (IIRC).

Personally, I'd spend time and money (especially the money!) going somewhere "nice".

How about the Maldives instead???

Have fun, Roberto and family! :happy

And as far as "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" goes, you got nuthin' to worry abt - your wife's with you! Who you gonna hide anything from !!?? :)

PS: sumi, that's a hoot! :applause

Okay, we have booked tickets to the "O" show. It'd better be good - expensive tickets!

That will probably be the only major entertainment thing we do. The rest will be eating, running, Red Rock Canyon and checking out guitar stores. :french
