Hey there, i'm introducing myself a little late, but better late than never right?

Im 21,been playing for 10 years and I still ain't that great..but i love to play, isn't that the main thing? haha.

I like everything from Stevie ray vaughan, to Pantera,to clapton etc.
Sometimes I like slow blues on my strat, some times I like full blown shredding and dive bombs on my Bc Rich.My Favorite guitarists are Stevie Ray Vaughan and Dimebag Darrell (RIP both)

My gear consists of : An early 1990's BC Rich Ironbird, (hence my screen name!)
a 1993 Fender Duo-sonic Reissue,an art & lutherie acoustic ,A samick nylon string acoustic,Bc rich Gunslinger (early 90's),and my pride and joy (pun intended) 2008 Stevie Ray Vaughan Strat. My amp is a brand new Fender blues Jr.,a Dunlop crybaby, and a Cool cats Drive pedal.I am saving up for a Dean From Hell which is my second dream guitar. That pretty much sums things up! Rockon ! :dude:

Welcome Ironbird, I think you've read enough to see that Robert, with a little help from his friends created a nice forum here.

There was good people when I arrived and more good people have joined since I signed up. Looking forward to some good conversation with you.

Oh, nice gear!!!:AOK:

welcome ironbird....this is a great forum....i think you will like it here....

Thanks guys! Robert, the neck is huge! but it's nice,it gives you a real good feel, and something to hang onto when playing with SRV's style.also,i find the Hendrix style chords feel alot smoother than on a C shaped or V neck.

Welcome, Ironbird. You sound like a person after my own heart.

Hey dude, welcome to the forum. It's pretty alright here. One question, though: are you sure that's a BC Rich Ironbird? It looks like decent old Gunslinger to me. Here's an Ironbird: http://www.staffhorst.nl/img/BCRPlatinumIronbirdBlack.jpg

I'm a B.C. Rich owner myself (2001 NJ series Warlock, trans. red paint, with a dimebucker in the bridge, brother!)

But if you just call it an Ironbird, fair play (I'm just confused :p )

Thanks for the welcomes! Sorry for the confusion,I own 2 Bc Rich guitars. I have my Ironbird at my friends house (he's fixing a few frets for me) and i'm considering putting a dimebucker in it! It used to be purple with white lightning air brushed on it (closest thing to a dimebolt i could afford when I was younger lol).it's been re-painted kerry king style,so I'm gonna get it back from him soon and i'll post a pic!. Rock on man, sorry again I forgot to clear up the confusion.

Hey man, it's all good! I just didn't want a fellow BC Richer walkin' round sayin' his Gunslinger was an Ironbird! That could get sticky! But your 'Bird sounds killer in any case! BC Riches are underrated guitars. . .

And Dimebuckers are pretty decent little pups, as well! Go for it! I've heard that Dime (pbuh) never actually used them, but I've read plenty o' interviews and he said that he don't ever put his name on anything unless he personally approves of it. You gotta be careful with that nowadays, though, cuz companies left and right are puttin' his name on everything! But Dimebuckers were around before his death, so they're alright.

Rock on!

Welcome to TheFret, Ironbird. Love that SRV Strat!! :dude: :AOK: I'm a fellow Blues Jr. owner, too. If you ever want to try any of the popular "BillM" mods on it, we can help you out with that....

Here's a link to the BillM Blues Jr. mods page:

I've done three of them--the "Twin" stack mod, the tone stack mod, and installing a simple adjustable bias control for the power tubes. All three are cheap to do and not very difficult. But keep in mind that tube amps contain LETHAL levels of DC voltage, so I don't recommend stuff like this for people without some electronics experience/knowledge.
