I spent an hour trying to learn how to use sotfware synths...I can't play 'em any, but I want to learn to use them sufficiently well to lay down some simple backings and weird intros etc. and melody bits. Learned the 4 most important chords on piano today too, that'll suffice me for a loooong while...:-)

Anyhow, here's a very simple E-F two-chord based noodle on synth and some guitars on top. A new-found Internet buddy called Sami reinforces me with lead guitar at the very start and the middle part with quick ad-lib licks; he's putting up an Internet-based band training/collaboration setup and approached me for tips and he's a terrific guitarist. Maybe we'll join forces some day for some real song as well.

Once you do all the hard work and figure it all out, be sure to let me know how. :)

Cool, I've been playing with Reason 5 for similar reasons. What sort of software synth are you using, and what sort of midi keyboard?

Sounds pretty cool deeaa. :AOK

I've got the Hallion synth that came with Cubase and once I start creating with that I find it really hard to even switch back to guitar. Synths are so much fun. This started off as just a pattern on the synth. My first synth based creation. I just love the variety of sounds available from a synth. http://www.box.net/shared/cth3j91qyc

It's the Halion...I haven't really got anything else right now. I don't have a proper keyboard either, just a Korg NanoKey, but it suits me fine because the keys are small and close to each other so it's easy to press 'em...at least compared to piano :-)

Sure is kinda hard to play...but I figure I'll learn it some now and then and try and get the major chords down so I can lay down some nice chordings. I even painted notes on the keys, otherwise I can't even find A to start with, LOL :-)
