not sure if this fits in the right forum.

ok so we landed our first gig last friday. everything went well and we were on top of things but we need to do something about or vocal sound.

I have audix OM-2 (great mic) but we have nothing to amplify it so were using a little guitar amp which is a little quiet and doesnt do my voice any favors.

so my question is what could we do to get a good sound without shelling out the cash. I cannot afford a PA system so it rules that out.

also could anyone suggest a good microphone because me and aaron want to do some harmonys and stuff

Shure Beta 57A. A little better range spread than the old faithful 57 making this one killer for both vocals and instruments. If you are on a tight budget and can only pop for one mic to do it all. this one does it.

Hard to get vocals out without having some kinda PA to sing thru. Maybe look into an active PA speaker, or cruise ebay or craigslist for an old Peavey 4 or 6 channel powered head & speakers - you can find these for reasonable $$ (i.e. under $500)

Sure SM58s are great vocal mics, but about $125 a pop.
