I can't remember if we did this before (probably did), but if you are not uncomfortable about providing some info, post a link or two to your town.

I live in the small village named Northfield Falls.

Notable facts about the Falls

4 covered wooden bridges within a 1/4-mile of my house.
we have a post office and a zip-code but no home delivery - everyone goes to the post office and has a box.

Notable Residents of Northfield

Northfield was the corporate center for many years in the 1800s of the Vermont Central Railroad.

Since 1886, the home to Norwich University. It is the oldest private military college in the United States and recognized by the United States Department of Defense as the "Birthplace of ROTC" (Reserve Officers' Training Corps). It is one of the six Senior Military Colleges (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senior_Military_College).

Charles Paine (April 15, 1799 - July 6, 1853) - 15th Governor of Vermont and president of the Vermont Central Railroad (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Paine)

Kyabje Trjang Rinpoche (1900-1981) was a Gelug Lama and a direct disciple of Je Pabongka. He was the junior tutor to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the root lama of many of the most important Gelug Lamas to teach in the West (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trijang_Rinpoche and the newspaper article - http://www.timesargus.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051109/NEWS/511090320/1003)

Wait, I thought there was a house across the street waiting for me?
Pony-up neighbor!
(It'll be just-my-luck that Bill-Hill will buy it and move in!)

I live in a village called Burtonwood. Home of not very much really..........

Apparently the only place in the UK to have this name, also the site of a famously huge USAF air force base during ww2, most of which is now built on or lost to view.

We also have an excellent brewery:beer:

Easiest town in the worlld to find. Wherever you are, go to the center of the country and find US Highway 183 (runs from Canada to Mexico). Head south till ya get to Austin. Stop and enjoy the wierdness, but don't talk to Leslie (semi famous transvestite with a beard), he can get chatty.

Continue south until you smell barbeque (about 25-30 miles). You've arrived.

Haha, yeah, LTJ are from here. I can remember when they were a pop-punk band with no horns!

My main band, Crash Pad, gigged with an LTJ side band called Rehasher, also, Vinnie and Roger have come to a couple of our shows, since they were friends with a band we used to gig with called Vangard. Jessica Mills, a former alto saxophone player for them used to be on a "punk parents" mailing list I was on, and Derron Nuhfer, who used to play tenor and baritone saxophones with them, clerked at a music store I used to frequent.

Gainesville is a small town with a big university. A lot of people know most of everybody on the music scene.

About Titusville

For those that dont know, our river banks are the closest you can get to seeing a Space Shuttle launch(without a launch pass).
30 minutes from anywhere, Orlando, Daytona beach, Cocoa beach, Melbourne...lots of stuff to do around here.

Rocket, do you ever go to Captain Hiram's?
If we had one locally Id go there just about everyday after work!

Sure, we visit Hiram's every couple of months. We prefer Ocean Grill... best food, (and service,) in our neck-O-the-woods.

Do they have live music too???

I'll occasionally drive to Hirams to see my buddy's band play...that place is freaking cool!

No live music at Ocean Grill... just elegant dining. If I want live music I just open a window or door, (of course my neighbors say the same.)

You must be referring to Hiram's "Ramp Lounge", "Tiki Stage" or "Grand Sand Bandstand" at the SandBar as there's no live music, (or any music,) in the restaurant, (although you can still hear it on some nights.) I used to play down there with Pete Harris before he died last year:

What's your "buddy's band"?

Sonic Mole Chasers...theyre a 3 piece that play alot of 80s/90s pop covers, and do it very well and with style. They put on a nice show. I like the drummer uses an electric kit, so they are able to set up at reasonable volumes and the rest of the band doesnt have to compete, so they sound great and are very listenable. And the singer switches between guitar and bass frequently...this guy has stage presence. Id highly recommend seeing them...especially at that venue!:bravo:

SMC at Sandbar on Thursday night.

I'm loving this thread!!

I live here..

http://www.sydneyaustralia.com/en/

Couple of things about Sydney.

- Probably the most expensive city in Australia.
- It's the first city established in Australia
- It's not the capitol city and nor is Melbourne in spite of what a lot of visitors believe. (Any of our Kiwi brothers can likely relate. Lots of people I speak to OS assume Auckland is the capitol of NZ)
- It's a tight race between Sydney and Melbourne for most cultually diverse city in Australia. There are many parts of both cities that are completely devoid of Australian born people and this can often come as a surprise to visitors expecting kangaroo's and bronzed life savers and when they get to the city and find that a huge number (maybe even most) of the people walking around are of Asian descent. I have two friends from Brazil who were astounded at the lack of "Aussies" they saw in the city and most of my Japanese collegues comment similarly the first time they get here.

and I'm originally from here

http://www.visitbrisbane.com.au/

Back when I left it was starting to grow significantly, and I think it's actually the fastest growing city in the country these days. In spite of that though it's still a bit of a joke to Sydney and Melbourne people. "Oh your from Brisbane, I'm sorry I'll speak slowly" etc Still very much a zenophobic country town culture though in spite of it's size.

Oh and loads of people have heard of Bondi Beach in Sydney. It's nice, but the beaches in Queensland (where I'm from) are WAY better. The beaches in Far North QLD are spectacular, but in that case the stories of killer sharks/jellyfish/croc's/dingo's etc are all true.

If you're coming down to Sandbar, let me know... I'll meet you there, buy you a drink, and watch your buddy do his thing.

Well, for what it's worth here's Waco:

http://www.waco-texas.com/

And a little information about Waco:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waco,_Texas

People born in Waco include:

Jennifer Love Hewitt
Steve Martin
Kevin Reynolds
Ann Richards
Ashlee Simpson (probably shouldn't brag about that one)

And folks who have or are currently living in Waco include: Willie Nelson (went to Baylor University for one year), Ted Nugent, and David Koresh (he doesn't live here anymore though:D )

Winter Springs is nice! And close
