Martin on CBS news tonight.

They mentioned Martin has a model they are producing in the $100's of dollars, not thousands,, to get them through these tough economic times.

I had no idea how big the company was.

For sure - my son has a DR, which has laminated sides and back. But the 1-Series is all solid wood. $899 for a solid-wood Martin dread sounds pretty good.

:AOK My D2R is a lam rosewood back and sides and it stands up very well vs the d28. Some of the low end models are made with a product Martin calls HPL, high pressure laminate. They do sound very good, not like a solid wood Martin, but nice in their own right. I've not played a One series. I'm very curious as to how they sound.

Love 'em or hate 'em you've got to give Martin credit. The've been making guitars, under Martin family ownership, since before the Civil War. :applause :applause
