In other words, Merry Christmas to me! Ordered this from MF on Black Friday and got the 15% discount plus a free gig bag rebate deal. Not bad!

I've never really considered myself a "Tele guy", but this will make my 4th, so I guess that makes me one!! Two Squier Classic Vibes, a G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semihollow, and now a Squier VM Cabronita Tele with Bigsby. I started drooling over this guitar as soon as I saw the product announcement a few months back. And the reviews have been very solid. Guitar Player included this model in a recent article about good guitar buys under $500, and Premier Guitar made it a "Premier Gear" pick: http://www.premierguitar.com/articl...ified-cabronita-telecaster-with-bigsby-review . Several of us were admiring it HERE.

It was back-ordered when I placed the order on Black Friday, but is supposed to ship this week. Pics to follow as soon as possible....

Sweet! That pickup looks like kind of a Gretsch knock off. I wouldn't think they could afford to put real Gretsch pups in there. I bet that is fun!

The neck pickup is Squier's "Fideli'tron" humbucker, their take on the classic Gretsch Filtertron. Should have some nice clean jangle and some nice dirty bite.

P.S. Now you know why I've been selling some pedals....

The guitar finally showed up today. Very impressed so far. Like all the higher end Squiers I've owned, the neck is great. Setup is excellent, though I haven't checked the exact intonation with a tuner yet, and I did raise the bridge pickup a bit to balance the volume better with the Filtertron-type humbucker at the neck. Both pickups sound very good--the humbucker is full and round with nice clean note definition, and the bridge has that classic Tele spank. No tone control, but I haven't missed it yet. Bigsby seems to work well, though I haven't really exercised it thoroughly. Mostly ran it through my Allen Sweet Spot tonight--need to play the guitar through my other amps and see how it reacts. But so far, so good!

Nice guitar. Could you wire in a push/pull volume/tone knob into the existing volume knob spot? I like to mess around with my tone knobs for different sounds. It is a very nice guitar as is, needless to say. I'm just wondering if this mod would be quick and easy, or if there would be more to it?

Great Guitar congrats to you that look like a cool axe, is this filtertron type pickups sounding fatter that the classical single coil from Fender ?

Nice new axe, DVM! Despite being a headbanger, I have a soft spot in my heart for Teles too.
