For the price that is probably going to be a good deal.
The only issue is that there is no roll off switch for low frequencies so you'll have to be weary when recording and get a pop filter to go with it.

What struck me odd,
they sell the same mic without the battery added feature for 80 bucks
and it gets good reviews from over 100 buyers.
Plus the MXL 990 also gets good reviews for a budget condenser costing 60 bucks and has a 3/4" diaphragm...

what else ya gonna get in this price range if your on a budget buy...
granted a pop filter would be a big help with any condenser..

Edit... sorry dunno how this got into general guitar talk.. thought I started it in forsale.. my bad..

sigh... disregard... I just got a backordered email.. seeing it's clearance I doubt it will be filled.. sigh.. ohwell..

without warning this mic still showed up at the house.. :bravo:

Although looking back at MF site.. it is now out of stock and discontinued.

As my first attempt at Condenser Mics I am quite happy with it.

Seems very solid.. came without shock mount but a clip to install on a mic stand.

I am currently running it without any battery installed thru a behringer Mic200 with great results.

Use it for acoustic guitar and it picks it up quite well with the sound that
I expected it to sound like, if not better.

I know it's a cheap MXL 1 inch Condenser mic,
but for newbies to condenser on a budget it's well worth it for clarity.

The more I look at reviews on MXL mics, it seems for the cost.. you get more than the price tag would suggest.

Time will tell on the quality build..
at first glance.. buy one.. buy two.. if you can find them..
your not out of pocket by much seeing list is 200.00
and you can have them for 40.00
and it sounds better on acoustics "to me" than the sm57 for my cabs.
think a mxl 993 is next up!

What do you mean it didn't come with a shock mount? Was it not in the factory box?

I got one (haven't hooked it up yet though) and everything is right there in the box.

Just a clip you screw on for mic mount..no BIG shockmount..
Actually, a shockmount was not shown in the website pictures anyway..
Although I would have liked one..:)
and mine is Silver color also.. not dark grey/black as pictured..
Did you get the 39.99 deal spuds?

Maybe they just sent anything they had packed with them..

here is a link to the color mine is.. plus the clip included in mine.

this looks like a nice kit here for 70.00
got a plastic case and that cool cable from xlr to 1/8

I might have to break down and see how long a battery
will last in one of these.. then get a desk stand!
might be a nice setup straight into a 1/8 input on computer for some.
has a battery on/off switch for when not in use.

Oops! My bad.
I picked up the CAD deal on the GXL3000. It was the same time you were posting this and I got confused. Sorry.:o
