Beautiful finish, Warren! Does it play and sound as good as it looks?

thanks plank...i am really happy with the guitar....the craftmanship on this thing is impeccable...i could not find any flaws. At first i had a hard time playing it (never having had a semihollow body guitar like this before but it didn't take long for us to start getting along!

The stock pickups are surprisingly good but i will probably eventually change them out for some classic 57s or something but for now they are great. I also like the acoustic qualities too....sounds really nice "unplugged!"

I would definately suggest anyone looking for a semihollow body guitar to give the ibanez artcore series a try...they really have their ***** together when it comes to the artcores.

Thanks to advice from Voodoo I finally got the switch cleaned and a treble bleed circuit wired correctly on to this Strat. She sings very nicely. The red Lace sensor in the bridge position sounds more like a P90 than your standard too bright Strat bridge pickup. It's hot! I also wired the second tone to work only on the bridge pickup. The middle is without any tone wired to it and the neck is standard wired.

The other two pickups are gold Lace sensors that I've had since the second year they came out. Nice Strat sound without the hum. Mmmmm good.:)

This one has the Earvana nut on it. Killer.:AOK:

Oooh Baby!

I'm in love...

Spud, ol' buddy ol' pal - if you ever take a dirt nap after running your bike off "the other side of the mountain" - puuuleeeze have them send her to me. I'll take good care of her, I promise! :Dude: That shade of blue with the white accents would stand out so well against the snowbanks in front of my house :AOK:

I'd even trade ya my '86 Toyota 4x4 (a.k.a. lil' rusty).

I'd give you my first born, but she's almost 13 and getting too much 'tude, so you'd wanna send her back anyway.

I'd lay down my life for ya brother Fretter, but then I wouldn't be able to enjoy that sweet Strat - THERE'S a twighlight zone episode for ya.

I'll stop babbling now.

Trev (a.k.a. the guy hanging around your doorstep...)

This is my baby...completely hot rodded...its setup is SHS Seymour Duncan 4 wire quarter pounders w/ "Coil cuts" installed since last pic (mini toggles) that drop the DC resistance from 14.2 to 7...thats wired on both, the SD JB in the middle position is also a 4 wire with a coil tap mini toggle wired up as well. The Volume pot is a Push/pull so that activates the neck pup so you can run all three pups or the neck/bridge combo...effectively turning the the 5 way into a 7 way. Now for other mods....full size CTS tone pots, Graphtech saddles/string tree, LSR roller nut, Sperzel tuners, and a 1/4 brass plate is under the neck pocket in a routed out cavity...sustain sustain sustain...

BTW..can someone do the math for me (I'm horrible at numbers) to see how many different tones I could get out...considering each pup has a tap, and its a 7 way selector........ BTW, non stock pickguard (GFS W/B/W put on since pic's were taken)...this started its life as a 50 series strat.

LGC and Spud, cool guitars! I might need to look into one of those Earvana nuts for my strat, not that I am having trouble with mine, but just because. LGC, good to hear from you! I have not seen many posts from you lately.

LaGrange and Spud,

all I can say is GAS!
They're both killers!

Spud, I like that blue but I'm keeping my first born. For now, anyway:D

BTW, my new avatar sort of fits well in this thread. It's Fender's color chart of custom finishes from 1960.

EDIT: I just run a search, I didn't find a Green Guitars thread. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

sounds great, Warren. I'll start one:AOK:

OLP Luke
This has really become a favorite of mine. At first I was ho hum about it. I had to get rid of fret sprout, change strings and shim the neck. Then I plugged it in (it has active pickups) and wasn't thrilled. For some reason I kept coming back to it and I'm sure glad I did. I love the sounds and the neck is a V shape that just fits my hands perfectly. It's fun and easy to play. The finish is a deep sparkly blue. Even the stock pickups are pretty well voiced. Different than what I was used to, but now I love them because they really do come clean in a mix.

I was really close to getting a used MM Luke few months ago. It was in decent cosmetic shape, black body...I love active pickups.

Truly nice Spud. And we all know how nice it sounds in your sound clips.

mrmudcat,

Very nice. I don't remember seeing that one before, I guess that's because I didn't venture over to the electric side. Second pic reminds me too much of snow and I don't know about you, but I'm not ready for that!

Had to post this again for our Washouts :AOK: From New Year's Day 07, outside my old house. Yeah, I can wait...

What is all that white stuff?

It appears to have fallen from the sky?

Is it something like sand? I don't understand?

The D'Addario EXL 140s that I have on my '51 have those colored ends on them.

I'm not absolutely positive, but I believe Ibanez usually has D'Addario. I would guess they are EXL110, but again not positive. My ARC300 came with D'Addario.
that makes sense...i use d'addario's most of the time and they do have the colored ends...
