That's a pretty interesting looking amp. I wonder how long the battery life lasts.

It's nice that they're going green with all the bamboo and salvaged woods used in the cabinets.
I guess my question would be what happens to the lithium batteries when they expire?

It's that time of year again.

Syo are you going?

Any rumors?

Here's a battery powered tube amph:

Hey tot, how are you doing?
I'm surprised you remembered. Yes, I'll be going. I could use some warm weather and I'm very interested to feel the mood this year. Last year most everyone was a bit down if not depressed. As for rumors, I haven't really been following the up and comings this year but I'm looking forward to seeing what's new. If I come across anything of interest, I'll be sure to make a report.

As for the lithium cell amph, I think I'll wait a year or two until after the second round of battery recalls and third price drop. Very interesting concept though.

The link sez up to 6 hours.

Where would you use it?
Hmm I don't really know. I'm not sure if I would actually use one because I don't think it's very hard to just leave it plugged in and it's not like a wireless guitar where you are moving around on the stage quite a bit.

Is a cool idea though.

I'm doing fine thanks. I'm looking forward to your impressions of the show.

Maybe one day we'll hear battery powered tube compression on street corners & subway stations.

According to Jet City's Facebook page they're supposed to announce a ton of new products at NAMM. Should be interesting . . .

I'm going to NAMM on Friday and possibly Saturday afternoon for an interview...if anyones going to be there let me know!

Hey Mark. I'm just leaving for the airport to go over there. I'll be there on Fri./Sat. too. What are you up to at the show?

I know that they are introducing the Pico Valve, a 50W head, and an iso cab. Not sure about the rest of the announcements. Hopefully one of them involves sending Rev. Rawk a free 20W combo :)

Mesa Engineering TransAtlantic TA-15

If this sounds as good as it looks and appears on paper, GAS ahoy!
Edit: A price of $899 was leaked already. For a bit more, I like the Express 5:25 with a MID EQ pot, reverb, and effects loop more. Still, this could be a great lunch box amph.

Info at Mesa's site. Short article at GuitarNoize.com.

That looks pretty sweet! In typical Mesa fashion, there's a ton of knobs and switches to fiddle with.

My Surly NAMM Report...

The Good:
Made some important deals/contacts.

The bad:
From a non-business, gearhead perspective I found it tiresome. In fact I managed to do all I needed to do in a day and didn't return. Products, exhibitors seemed pretty much the same as last year with the exception of a few less novelty guitar pick vendors.:applause
I think many exhibitors were there mostly to make a statement that they are still alive (after a dismal 09).

Summary: NAMM is still good for business however gearheads may want to experience it bit by bit over the interwebs and avoid paying the $12 parking, $10 soggy/stale/moldy sandwich etc., etc. prices.

To be honest though, severe jetlag, little sleep and bigger crowd didn't help my enthusiam. Maybe it was really good... :notme
