I know tools can be expensive. Especially really nice ones. Or sets that have many, many pieces. But how is that almost 9 grand worth of tools?!?!?!!!!1one?!

I have a Craftsman 150 pc set and for the most part it handles my needs.

I put their replacement guarentee to the test and they replaced a lot of my tools when we had our fire.

Somewhere in this mess are my old Craftsman tools. I took in everything I could find and they replaced everything. The parts were discolored and probably the metal was weakened by the heat.

You'd be surprised Rob with the tools you eventually need for those special little projects around the house, yard or garage. I can see where all of those would come in handy. And yeah Snap Ons would be way more expensive.

50k is a good average and it comes out of our pocket,so really auto techs are not payed nearly enough.Yes Rabies there is really a difference between the tools.For me Snap-On sockets are the best.Sumi

I just bought a set of mechanics tools (now that my daily driver is a '65 chevy its kind of mandatory) and $130 with Craftsman covered me just fine...

Anyone who makes their living w/ wrenches deserves good name brand tools.
Specialty tools made for specific jobs are usually expensive, so I can see where a tech could spend $50K. I don't vacuum lines or perform diagnostics myself, so I have maybe $1K worth of stuff .
By the same logic, what do I need all these guitars and amps for? I'm not making a living w/ them, I should sell all but one or two.......... not.
