Pulled the trigger on a '51 Fender Custom Shop nocaster tele a week ago. Been drooling over this guitar for awhile now. Pro Guitar Shop had a 15% off sale so that was all the excuse I needed. lol. It's Candy Tangerine in color what a beauty!! Was told only 70 made. Tried to post a pic...but forgot how!! Too dang old I guess. If some one can refresh my memory will put up some photos.

cant wait to see pics....load the pictures to a place like photobucket.com....its free....then link the picture to the message board using the "insert image" which looks like a mountain with a sun above.....could not be easier....or email me the picture at [email protected] and I will put it up in my photobucket for you. Congrats on a great Telecaster my man.

Congrats! You've got one fine piece of equipment. I've seen pics of the tangerine color, and it's one of my faves. You have to post a pic!

I'd show you how to use Photobucket, but I don't use it, and usually upload straight from my computer.

I hope you post pics soon so I can really drool. I love Tangerine, and I think the Nocasters are way cool. HNGD!!

Here are pictures of Rick's New Tele

Beautiful! So the ashtray cover is removable? I am clueless as I have never seen one in person before.

Yep, that's why it has the name. Old school (and nicotine dependent) Tele wranglers would take the cover off and use it for a convenient ashtray. Leo wanted the Tele to have a sleek look. Problem is, the ashtray cover isn't all that practical.

I think that is quite possibly the most beautiful Tele I have ever seen!

Thanks to Kazz & Tig for posting some pics of my new tele. Yes the ashtray cover is removable. Looks really cool but not so practical. Can't do any palm muting of strings with it on. So I keep it off. It has a Texas special pickup in the bridge & Twisted tele in the neck. A 4-way switch where you can run in parallel & series. One has a stock tele sound the other a humbucker tone.It has a U shaped neck, which is much chunkier than any of my guitars. At first didn't think I would like it but much to my surprise I LOVE IT!!! This is quickly becoming my favorite guitar.

Telecaster ashtrays get taken off, put in a drawer and forgotten. They are then whisked of to a parallel dimension where they live happily with small screwdrivers, ballpoint pens and the little keys for electric drills :)

If I smoked, or allowed smoking in our house, it would be fun to have a couple around for their nicknamed use. Kinda like how I like my coasters to be from brew pubs and feature good beers.

Great looking Tele Riverrick, how do you find the U shaped neck in comparison with say a modern C .
It is a Fender Custom Shop guitar and that just happened to be what they put on this guitar. after looking at the question again maybe I misunderstood you. If you're asking how I like it....I LOVE IT!! It's really easy to play and hands don't get tired as quickly.

Yep, these "Nobasters" are a wonderful combination of a '51 Nocaster and a '62 custom w/9.5" radius rosewood fretboard.

//Excuse the thread hijacking, but this isn't worth a new thread... I found a sweet 2000 USA Standard Tele that would put me in the doghouse if I get it so soon after my recent buys!

And a rare '92 MIJ 52 Reissue Tele (TL52-90)...
(both are excellent condition used for $1000)
