Well, I went ahead and done it. Bought another pawn shop prize, a Peavey Fury bass. Should date from 1984-86, according to an online article I found about it's predecessor, the Peavey T-20 bass. Everything appears to be in good working order, not that there's much to go wrong in the first place. Just one pickup, an angled super-ferrite pickup, which apparently is the same as was on the earlier T-20. According to my T-20 source ( http://www.vintageguitar.com/features/brands/details.asp?AID=2470 ), the pickup is a single-coil. The pickup also has what Peavey called an "integral, mounting ring/thumb rest combination" which is unque if nothing else.

Mine is black-on-black, like my 1980 Peavey T-60 guitar. Since I know it didn't happen if there ain't pics, here are a couple, pardon the sticker gunk, still working on getting it off the bass:

Total damage?

$125 USD.

Very cool! Sweet deal. Looks very similar to my Fury with the exception of the pickup.

Haha, thanks guys.

It just occurred to me that this is my only current bass with a maple board, the other two are rosewood. In addition to this'un and my P and Jazz, I've only owned one other bass, which was stolen years ago (a cheap Hondo Explorer bass). Iirc the Explorer had a maple board too. It'll be good to have a maple board back in the family again

Way cool Krash!! :bravo:

Another Florida pawn shop treasure. :D

I dunno about the rest of FLA, but GVL is golden for this sort of thing. It helps that it's the punk rock capital of the southeastern US, and home to the largest state university in FLA and a large community college to boot.

Nice catch B! I bet she plays nice! :AOK:

So far so good. The action is a little high, I will see if I can get it down without too much rattle, but even if not I can live with it.
