Hi guys... We'd love some feedback on our latest cover if you don't mind. This is for all you classic rockers and Rainbow fans.

It's a cover of the Rainbow classic, "Gates of Babylon". I think we've just about got this dialed in, but there are a couple of things to come yet (like the violin at the end). Read the details at the SoundCloud site for info on our very special guests.

As always, we appreciate any and all feedback!

I guess Soundcloud makes it somehow a bit murky...sounds like a messy MP3 conversion. Low end is much improved now though! Too bad the sound quality overall suffers so much with the mp3 conversion...what bitrate is it on soundcloud?

I uploaded a 192kbps MP3 to SoundCloud. Not sure how their encoding effects it after that. Maybe something went wrong on my conversion to MP3. I'll so some checking...

Listening to it now, as I type...

I have to confess that I haven't heard the original, and don't have a frame of reference. As usual, Dee's vocals sound great. The mix is murky, as Dee said, but I can make out most of what's happening. This tune has the potential to sound HUGE. I dig the keyboards, and it's a Blackmore tune, so guaranteed the guitars are gonna sound great. The person doing the solo is good.

I like it! I'd love to hear a little bit clearer version, though... It's kind of hard to make out what the rhythm guitar is doing in parts of the tune.

I can tell, though, that y'all put in a lot of work on a difficult tune.

Thanks, Katastrophe! Appreciate the detailed feedback. I'm doing some tweaking on the mix and there was problem with some of the 'quickie' mastering effects I applied, so I'm confident it'll be much clearer on the final mix. But, this is exactly why I like getting feedback here. :)

The solo is being played by Steph (http://www.youtube.com/user/StephLeGratteux/featured) and you are right... he is GOOD. We're excited to have him collaborate on this with us. We're also joined by Richie (U.R.) on keys: http://www.youtube.com/user/rushyeskansas

Full video and final mix yet to come... Stay tuned. :)
