New here, what is this I've got?

It's an '85 or '86 Japanese made Squire strat Serial # A009767 with just one humbucker and the plug is in the pickguard at a 90 degree angle. Anyone ever seen anything like this? Thanks.

That is from the Contemporary Strat series from Japan. Early 80s. I have one too but it's a double humbucker without a pickguard.
