Hello All!

I have been reading some post on thefret and it seems like a friendly place!

I have been playing for several years now. Really enjoy the old blues. Huge fan of Robert Johnson, Son House, Sonny Boy Williamson II, etc.

My gear consist of a Squire 51, MIM strat and a Jay Turser JTG-2. My amp is a Line 6 75w.

I am going to make an attempt to upload a pic of my gear.

Nice to meet everyone!

Welcome! Is you MIM a 60th anniversary? A little hard to tell from your photo but is looks like one a bit. That is my main guitar, and there is one other owner also already on board. Again, welcome and have fun!

I played with a guy that had an Italian bass shaped like that turser. I can't remember what it was called, but it was cool. It was like a Hofner Beatle bass.

Welcome!

Tell me more about that violin-shaped Turser. How much did she set you back?

Found it on ebay and bid $150.00 and got it. It needs to have the frets leveled and just a good overall tune up. Plays pretty decent now but will be better when I have time to work it over.

They are discontinued now and I just wanted one before they could not be found.

Hello there! Unique looking Turser...any more info on it?

Not a bad playing guitar. I do not know a lot about them yet. I would like to find documentation on the wiring because it is different than any other guitar that I have ever seen.

The model that I have has been discontinued and I wanted one for the looks alone. I know that is not a good reason to buy a guitar but what the heck, I bought it on ebay for $150.00

Jay Turser is still making guitars

Always good to have another Delta Blues Fan around here. I have really been into Robert Johnson since the 1986 movie Crossroads, I went to the library and got every book they had on Robert, as well as Delta Blues....fascinating stuff.

Say do you like Keb Mo at all?

I do not own any of his work, but what I have on the radio and a couple of other peoples cd's sound good. I need to take the time to listen to some of the "newer" blues players and singers.

Welcome, DB!

Gotta love the blues. Do you play any slide?

I have never gotten around to it. I really like the sound of a good slide guitarist .

Do you play and if so what is the best way to begin learning?
