But I'm not going to torture you forever, just a little.

For those who care about such things. She's a Martin D12-1, 1999 vintage. I've had her about a week now and she's spectacular. Loud, or maybe I shoud say LOUD!!! With all the shimmery overtones 12's are supposed to have. The 1 series Martins are kind of orphans. They have solid tops and backs (spruce and mahogany in this case) with lam sides.

And here she is with her 6 string sister.

Sweet! :AOK: It's good to hear good comments on the 1 series. I have wondered about that a lot, the past couple of months I've seen one or two up for sale.

Clips, maybe?

EK, that is one fine guitar. See, you are in the gourmet section, I'm dining at a family diner. When mine arrives I know I will be happy, I am taken by your guitar.

Good thing you didn't string it out, they are a tough crowd and I sense some were PO'd, but screw them.

Anyway, very nice selection.

Congratulations that's a lovely guitar I'm always tempted to buy a twelve string guitar but my wife says there's already too much guitar around :rotflmao: :D

The 1 series are the low end of the martin scale and this thing was way below normal selling price. Call it semi-gourmet at family diner prices.

The D2R, six string sitting beside the 12'er is also part of that series. The first time I played it the shop had a D18 to compare it to. I liked the D2R better. Got lucky with both of them. :)

Gorgeous, EK, and cool that you got it at nice price.

Frankly, I truly doubt if solid sides make an appreciable difference in tone, since they really don't do any vibrating, just reflecting. So both those 1 Series Martins are great deals :AOK:

Hmmm... a 12 string...don't have one of those... and a Martin...good buy...

Now CUT THAT OUT and stop tormenting a poor SOB who's trying to go straight!

Looks Beautiful! Congrats!

Shiner, What do you have against Taylor?

Never played one Street. I just like messin' with Taylor owners because they tend to be pretty rabid.:D

Seriously though, I've yet to play a Marin, but I have been skulking around on craigslist looking for one. That is a sweet lookin' guit Keel, and if she sounds half as good as she looks, it was worth what ever you paid for it.:master:
