Ro3b mentioned earlier that GFS was putting out a new line of guitfiddles. It's a new line of S and T types that look incredible, with some really cool colors.

Prices look to be cheap, and they're already loaded with GFS pups.

Those are some amazing looking guitfiddles. I'm GASsing for the Cream thinline with the maple fretboard.:AOK:

I am developing severe lust for the XV-820 Ash Trans honey maple neck. It has that 52 tele look. Could be next on the list after an Agile LP or similar. A little bit of a flat radius for a tele though maybe?

Nah... a 12" radius is the standard radius for a LP. It's really not that noticeable to me, and I actually prefer it to the 9.5" radius on my Strat. The fretboard's just a little flatter.

That is exactly the one I am looking at. Squire does not have one like that, so this is the next candidate, after the LP of course.

I also noticed the in the "Necks and Bodies" section there are a number of S and T style bodies and necks, prepainted. They all look conspicuously like the new models for sale...

I'm hoping for one of the new XV-700 Thinlines for Christmas (StreetMusic is fully aware). The only thing I didn't like baout them was the LP type pickguard, but Jay at GFS told me the new ones will not have the pickguard.

Yep, caught my eye too. What's the scoop on these guitars, I'm not really familiar with them - good, fair, or bad rating?

I may be wrong, but the only Fretter I can recall who owns one--at least, one that's been reviewed here--is Ro3b. Here's his report on the XV600 he bought last year:

As you'll see, overwhelmingly positive, with a few minor flaws--IMO, excellent quality & value for a sub-$200 guitar.

As far as GFS goes, they have an excellent reputation for quality products at bargain prices, and I've used their pickups and some of their other parts with great results. Good customer service, too! :AOK:

I sold mine just recently to make room for one in candy apple red with a rosewood fretboard. It was just an outstanding guitar, one I'd have been happy to pay much more for. I'm really looking forward to the new one.

Yeah, Jay from GFS/Xavier really is good about customer service. Fwiw, over at Harmony-Central Jay has said that this current batch of guitars has fewer of the small cosmetic issues than the last bacth did-- apparently he went over and visited the factory personally.
