So, what's the first guitar gear you are buying in 2009? :D

We all know we can't kick the GAS habit... as for me, I don't know yet. Probably some good patch cables from lavacables - the George L cables I have are driving me up the wall.

I might also buy an old vintage Traynor amp - they sound killer and are not too expensive. Some of these amps are basically Plexi clones or can turn into a true Plexi design with small mods.

Well, despite my need to curtail the purchases, I think maybe an amp purchase might be in the near future. Still thinking about the Blackheart 5 watt head and cab. I wouldn't mind spotting a used one locally.

I think everything else will be small purchases. I'll probably stick with the existing guitars for awhile. The other thing I've been kicking around is a DVM pedal, but I need to talk to him about what I am looking for.

Long run, of course is the ES335, but I don't think that is in the cards for 2009.

I d like this Asat & or a good distortion pedal

What happened to the Trademark?

My TM60 is blowing fuses as soon as it's powered on. I haven't investigated yet, here's hoping for a simple fix.

Other than a Tele, I just want to get better at playing to the point that I can do a decent cover of a few songs. That Tele GAS is a hard one to fight against.

I've got waaaaaaaaaay more GAS than I do money.

I am now (for the moment, and it's revolving) GASsing for the following:

1. Peavey Vypyr 100 watter with Sanpera II pedal.
2. ESP LTD Lynch M1 Tiger
3. Peavey HP Special Flattop in Black
4. ESP EC 1000 in Vintage Black
5. Squier CV Tele
6. Gretsch Duo Jet in Cadillac Green

This GAS is baaaaaaad GAS!

Unfortunately, I won't be buying any of it any time soon.:deadhorse:

Nashville craigslist is my biggest problem , there are pages of stuff added day after day to the musical equipment list,, every brand of gear imaginable and cheap!

yesterday I spotted a beautifully finished 1 X 12 cab with a hard to find jbl speaker , the speaker alone would easily go for $250 on ebay, it went for $75.
soon as it was listed.

it's hard to pinpoint certain brands I'm after when so many deals crop up on every brand. GAS overload.

I did a drool search today on Dr Z amps and there were atleast 8 listings !

oodles of strats and teles ,,want a 69 tele ..it's on there. name it, it's probably on there ..:thwap:

(...craigslist.... is.... the devil)

During our holiday visit I spotted one of these in a shop called Daddys Junky Music. Wonderful tone and feel. Steet price of $800-900. $299 sale price. Kicking my self for passing it up. My call and see if they can ship it!!!

For effects (thanks to spudman getting my gas up) I'm looking at the Line 6 M13 which also led me to look at possibly getting the zoom 9.2tt instead. One or the other I think.

As for guitars it looks like maybe the G&L Will Ray signature...

Seems worth it for the skull inlays alone plus it looks like a fun guitar to bend around.

Not planning on buying anything anytime soon - too broke from Christmas. UNLESS, I win the Fret raffle! Then I'll look for either a 335 copy or maybe a Xaviere Strat from Guitar Fetish. 'Course seeing that video that Andy showing off that Hamer Explorer has got me really drooling! That baby is SHWEET!

Well, if you get one then either I am going to have to plan a trip to Texas or you'll have to plan one to Wisconsin. I'd advise against February.

That's when we have our week of winter. .00000000075" of ice on the road and we shut down, just as God intended.

Otherwise, it's a deal!:AOK:

I have no idea Blazes I live in Oregon.

I had no plans to buy anything. But things have been falling into my lap lately out of the blue. Late last year, my Christmas present to myself:

Then just a couple days ago, stumbled on this '84-'86 Peavey Fury bass for $125:

I reckon I'm done until the birthday in May. I really wanna concentrate on fixing up stuff that's not working and getting everything I already own ship-shape and Bristol fashion, rather than buy more though. Last year I finally got round to getting my Ovation Breadwinner working properly again, as well as getting my back-up bass head, an old Woodson, repaired.

Projects for this year would include some fret work on my old '60 Fender Duo-Sonic and re-grilleing my '66 Fender Super Reverb, which is currently in tatters (seen below between bass rig and Kustom rig):

I also have some PA stuff I never use that I need to sell, an old Peavey 12 or 16 channel board (I think it's 16, but I haven't used it in years an honestly don't know!), and a couple smallish monitors.

I really don't need any more gear! Although someone locally was selling some old no-name (actually, the brand is "Holmes") 4-channel PA head for $50, that might be a good "universal backup" type amp (or one my daughter could use for bass learning):

Also, someone is selling a 2x10 bass cab for $50, I might get that and loan it to my daughter for playing in her room:

(Sigh) I'm hopeless.
