Well, I did it. The guy at the guitar store offered me a really good deal on my Telecaster so I traded it in for the 1994 (I believe) G&L Legacy USA with a hard case! It's my first American-made electric. There is only the slightest signs of use on it. I'd call it mint condition. The only issues are that a) it has fret sprout, and b) it doesn't have a trem arm. I'm setting up an appointment with my luthier about the frets and I ordered a Hipshot 1/4" arm off Reverb.

I really like the second tone knob that basically acts like a passive bass control on an amp. It allows for a lot of tonal sculpting. Plus the bridge pickup is always running through the tone stack so it isn't ice picky (although it can get close if you roll off the second tone).

Turns out the pickups in these are Duncan SSL-2 aka Vintage Flat Strat!

Oh wow! Look at that tailpiece! Awesome color too! Very nice guitar, Rev. Play that til your fingers fall off!

I plan on it! Just waiting for it to get back from the luthier who is tending to the fret ends.

Sweet axe, Rev!! Great color and I really like that trem bridge design. I almost bought a G&L Comanche a while back, with the hum-canceling Magnetic Field Design (MFD) Z-Coil pickups. I have a couple of their Tele-style guitars, but from the cheaper Asian-made Tribute series. Good values!

Do you plan to play it upside down, or just photograph it that way?? ;)

You know me, anything to add a degree of difficulty! I don't always understand why my phone's camera chooses the direction the picture comes out as. And I'm too lazy to rotate it. The trem arm is coming in the mail today. The guy working on my guitar has a lot of instruments he's working on. I told him he didn't need to be in a hurry. Of course I'm itching to play it.

I almost bought a Tribute HH Tele-style some years ago. It had a transparent red finish; one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen.

Got her back from the guitar doctor! Fret ends are now baby butt smooth. He also adjusted everything so it's set up properly. Played it a bit and I really like these Duncans.

I ended up getting a Hipshot trem arm for it. The part that goes into the bridge was about 3/4" too long so I had it cut down. It's still a tight fit, so I've been using a metal finishing pad to sand it down a bit. It'll take just a bit more but it's almost perfect!

That is a great-looking guitar. Is it playing as well as you expected?
