Well after behaving all day, I finally opened the case this evening and pulled out my new Brian Setzer (or Seltzer as Homer would say) Hot Rod G6120SH.

I must say, it plays and sounds exactly as I had hoped! I love the feel of the neck and fretboard and it plays surprisingly fast. Very easy on the fingers.
Wow, I mean...wow! The only thing I'm not sure about is the pickups. They sound pretty good but very low output. I'll probably try some TV Jones Classics. These are the TV Jones "Designed" Filtertrons which really has nothing to do with TV Jones except for the appearance. Anyway, I'll just enjoy it as it is for now. Which is to say, alot! :happy

That has gotta be my favorite color on a Gretsch. It just looks right, and beautiful.

Congrats, syo! Was it worth the wait?:AOK

That's a great guitar. Congratz on that baby. The colour is extremely cool. Gretsch guitars do not only sound great, they also play excellent. I find their neck radius and fretboardshape very modern and very comfortable.

Awesome. LOVE 6120's. If the p'ups aren't hot, what makes it a hot rod model?

See, I'd buy a guitar from a dude who I know actually is a shameless fan like me. Enjoy!

All I can say is WOW! That thing is beautiful. Congratulations :applause :applause

Mass drooling over this guitar could cause localized flooding, so be careful.

I love it!

Gawjus!!!! I'm surprised that the Setzer models (and all the upper end Gretsch's) don't come with the real TV Jones pups tho... Kinda thought that was the difference between them and the entry level models.

Thanks everyone. Regarding the color, I figured if I ever bought a Nashville/Hot Rod, it would have to be this color. The Hot Rods come in a range of colors most of which are very unappealing to me. I played it for a couple more hours last night and can't say enough how happy I am with it.

You knew what you were talking about Kat. In other words, YES!

That's it exactly Jimi. It's my first ebony board which I love the feel of and the 9.45 radius is perfect on this guitar.

I think it's called a Hot Rod for three reasons that I can figure.
1). It's a stripped down Nashville with no tone controls
2). The chrome "Brian Setzer Hot Rod" plate on the headstock
3). Marketing

Today is a day off for me. What perfect timing! :dude

Oh my God !! This is a beauty ..

Congrats Syo ...:applause :applause

HA! I'm taking this sentence and showing the wife... She won't believe it.

The smartest thing Fred Gretsch did when he resurrected the brand was to move production for the main models to Japan. I really don't know if the American "custom" models could be any better, especially given the prices they command. FMIC was smart to keep production in Japan, too.

Congrats again, syo... Now play the hell outta that sucker! :)

What a beauty!!! Love that color too. Hope you love it as much as I love mine. Congrats on picking a real winner:rockya :applause
