For those of us who like to mess around with tube amps, I can highly recommend the Bias Rite. I just received mine from Weber Speakers, and it's a great EASY way to see how your amp is running. I ordered the one with dual octal probes. You can check the current of each tube at idle (a rotary-type A/B/C/D). And then toggle to read the plate voltage. This helped me discover two major things:
1) My new SED =C= 6L6 from KCANOS tubes were a perfect match and running a tad cool, but still acceptable for me.
2) Voltage was almost 460 DC, compared to the spec sheet, which says 430. This makes a little bit of a difference depending on where you like to bias your amps. Anyway, a handy tool...
