NQOTD= newbie question of the day! LOL

Anyway what is the difference between a wah pedal and a volume pedal?
As always thanks in-advance for your words of wisdom.

Think of each like the tone and volume knobs on your guitar.

A wah acts like a tone knob, only over a wider range. With the pedal pushed forward, you get a thin, trebly tone. Sweep it all the way back and it sounds bassy. Going back and forth on the pedal produces the "wah wah" sound.

A volume pedal works like the volume knob on the guitar. Pushed forward, you're running at full volume. All the way back, and the volume is reduced to zero.

Also when using a wah, your mouth must move to mirror the sounds coming out of your amph. This is known as "Wah Mouth Syndrome".

Thanks very much that clears it up for me completely.

Cool! So, which one are you buying? Both?

I think I'll go with the Wah 1st then the volume pedal.

Either Ibanez Tone-Lok WD7 Weeping Demon Wah Pedal or Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal

Volume pedal looks like Dunlop GCB-80 High Gain Volume Pedal

But of course I am open to suggestions.
