Not Brittney Spears. Sorry.
But this instead.

Sweet Spud:rockon: You know...clips or...:poke:

Does the finish just look textured or is it? What an awesome look

Any more Britney lyric quotes and I'll have Renman ban ya!! :flamemad: ;)

Nice! An Ibby ART300, huh? Hey, I had a finish on a pedal come out a lot like that....but it wasn't on purpose! Seriously, that looks pretty cool. :dude: I can see why they call it "Cayman".

We do, however, require clips to authenticate the veracity of this post.... :poke:

It has that traditional body shape but one difference that I appreciate is that the back is contoured sort of like a Strat. It doesn't have the square body like a Les Paul or Tele making it much more comfortable to play and snug up against your body. Smart thinking Ibanez.

Hey Spud by the looks of the picture you posted your getting the black one,I have a great name for it you can call it Obsidian, cause it looks like it and the Indians used to made axes out of it so why not now.Sumi:D

I played one of those briefly. Very nice guitar. If I were looking for a Les Paul-esque instrument, that would be high on the list. Seems like a more metal version of a Paul, which is right up my street.

Steve, is the body actually textured or is that the design in the paint? I'm thinking of the next guitar being an ART100 to sort of replace the ARC300.

The ART300 gets great reviews. What is the deal with the 2 AA batteries for the humbuckers, I'm not familiar with that?

Thanks SVL.

It's a pretty neat axe. The notes are very clean and articulate. It came superbly packaged and is in what I would call 'shop worn' condition. It's been played but not abused or scratched.
I think one thing I will do to it right off the bat is to change the tone capacitor. I'm not sure what is in there but it isn't what I want to hear.

More to come....

Cool taters there spud......

Clips when you get er dude

Soon enough.

I'm liking it so far. I cleaned it up and put new strings on it, tightened the tuners and adjusted the truss rod. I stayed up until midnight playing it last night and now I'm looking forward to gigging with it on Sunday.

The pickups are very articulate especially with distortion. Every note is balanced and distinct. The pickups have a wide variety of tones too. The neck gets the classic paf sound, the middle is bright and somewhat Tele-like and the bridge snarls and barks like a P90.

The neck is a Gibson 50s style big and round. Pretty easy to play actually. I had trouble putting it down last night but Mrs Spud made me a pretty good offer that I couldn't refuse otherwise I would have played it all night. ;)
