poseur (plural poseurs)
  1. One who affects some behaviour, style, attitude or other condition, often to impress or influence others. He pretends draping things in miles of cloth is art, and that he’s an artist, but it’s always the same gimmick with different details, and he’s just a poseur. She only dresses emo because she thinks it’s popular, she doesn’t even like the music, she’s such a poseur.

Or the people in this movie

I was showing the trailer to my wife last night and my daughter walked into the comp room. She asked/told me "If they want to play guitar so much, why they just didnt buy a real one to play".

Shes awfully smart for a 7 year old :DR

I made it through part of the trailer. Performance art? Like figure skating but not absurd? Tripe pure and simple. What people will do for a buck or face time on a screen.

What's worse is that I've seen some "players" air guitaring their guitar.............more focused on looking kewl than on anything approaching actually playing the guitar........

But, that's what single finger power chords were invented for. :D

Back in the 80's I would constantly bump into a guy that was touring the USA doing air guitar shows and mime acts and making a living at it. I doubt that he has retired from all the royalties that he produced from writing air songs.

You know, its kinda hard to tell whos the bigger idiot...is it the guy on stage or is it the people in the audience? Who would waste a Saturday night watchin these idiots?
