I've always wanted to build this project, I think I still have the original Guitar Player Magazine from the 80s which had this project in it. I'm not really a fuzz kind of guy, so this has always been a back burner project for me.

Looks very cool: the guitar signal is split into four bands and each band is individually fuzzed, giving a huge amount of control over the fuzz tone. I've checked on this project from time to time, but it seems as though PAIA has been out of the front panels for a while. :thwap:

Seriously, I'm going to get that kit when I get a few bucks ahead. With a face plate and shipping it should come in at a little over $100. Which is less than the price of a new boutique pedal.

The idea of dividing up the signal into four bands and distorting each band is very interesting.

I think that the signal is split up into treble, bass and two mid-range bands. The more bands, the more opamps, the greater possibility for noise.

Is that true for EQ's as well.

Is a 12-band noisier than a 7-band or are there no op-amps in a typical EQ.
