Recording my Acoustic via a Dean Markley soundhole pup

Couple clips to try this out. A Dean Markley sound hole pickup, straight into the Line6UX2, into Garageband with no additional effects. It is ok, but it does not really capture this guitar's full sound. I may have to learn to mic it. All I have is a SM57, and a Peavey SM58 copy to use as mics. Well, here are the clips anyway.

This one is just a strummer of Heart of Gold, that I sent to a friend as an example of my strumming. I played a bit tight, but whatever. It is my Martin with a Dean Markley soundhole pup into my Line6UX2.

Try the '57 about a foot away pointing at the end of the fingerboard. If you want more warmth, point a second mic at the lower bout. A large diaphragm condenser would be best, but a '58 will do in a pinch. You may need to knock the high mids back on a '58 to overcome that "presence peak" that mic has for vocal use.
A Martin deserves to be heard in its full acoustic glory. Between you and me, I tell the folks at open mic nights that the pickup in my Gibson's broken .

Excellent advice, mark.:AOK The only other things I would suggest is compare aiming the 57 at the end of the fingerboard to aiming it at the 12th fret, and experiment with the angle and distance of the mics, particularly the 58 vis the lower bout.

Sun, is that one of the passive soundhole wooden Dean Markley pickups? It sounds alright, did it have any feedback problems?
