:dude BTW: The Horns as they are called today George Clinton has being doing this in his shows since the late 60's as the Funk symbol.

I liked the extended jams back then. It followed a theme and let the guitarists stretch out. It's not as fashionable in today's music of "instant gratification.......get to the end........get on with it....music".
Allman Brothers were another great band that could stretch out and just.......... play............
