I have a LP rewiring kit from guitarfetish enroute - I've never done a rewire of an LP before. I'm planning on just doing one pot at a time and basically hooking everything up like it is now, just with the new materials.

There's a clear wire that is wired to the input jack tip connection - it's not a braided wire but a single conductor. Runs up into the body somewhere. Also it's only partially shielded.

What is this wire for? Is it a ground wire to the bridge that grounds the tip?
