What is it that is as big as yourself (sometimes even bigger) yet it weighs nothing? The answer is not my veins! :D
That would be you shadow :)

I dance and breathe and can even deceive.
I am not alive, yet watch how I thrive.
Do not come too near or I will eat you my dear.

What am I?

Now that's funny! That's something I'll have to tell Older Kid Kat. She'll get a kick out of it.:rotflmao:

disestablismentarianism?
Actually, I believe that the longest non-technical word in English is antidisestablishmentarianism.

Just found this thread. Here's one:

What's round on both ends and high in the middle? :D

Ohio.

A man has his apartment on the 20th floor of an apartment building. When he leaves, he takes the elevator down, but when goes back up again, he takes the elevator to the 5th floor and walks the rest. Why?

Because he's short and can't reach the button?

Because he's a midget, so he can't reach the button for the 20th floor.

BTW, Algonquin's riddle was killing me, so I googled for the answer...but I still think someone should answer it.

And now, for one from one of my favorite computer games of all time:

A barrel of rainwater
weighs twenty pounds.
What must you add
to make it weigh fifteen?

OK, a bit late here...

One answer immediately comes to mind:
Fire!

Here's a tricky one - what can be considered being the longest word in the English language?

Not sure of the answer, but here's a quote for married guys:

"I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language.
Could it be that "I do" is the longest sentence?
